Laughter Yoga – The Joyful Path to Wellbeing
Laughter Yoga is a unique and uplifting form of therapy that combines intentional laughter with deep, yogic breathing techniques. It’s not about jokes or comedy - it’s about harnessing the body’s natural ability to laugh, regardless of mood or circumstance. The simple act of laughing, even when initiated as an exercise, triggers powerful physiological and emotional benefits. Within minutes, the body releases endorphins, reduces stress hormones, and improves oxygen flow, creating a sense of lightness, connection, and renewed vitality.

Originally developed by Dr. Madan Kataria in the mid-1990s, Laughter Yoga is now practiced worldwide in community groups, care settings, workplaces, and wellbeing retreats. The sessions often begin with gentle stretches, breathing exercises, and playful interactions that encourage natural laughter to emerge. As the session progresses, the laughter becomes spontaneous and contagious, lifting the entire group’s mood and energy.

Beyond the immediate sense of joy and relaxation, regular participation in Laughter Yoga has been shown to strengthen the immune system, enhance emotional resilience, and foster a more positive outlook on life. It offers a safe, inclusive environment where participants can release tension, reconnect with their inner child, and rediscover a sense of community through shared joy.
Laughter Yoga reminds us that laughter truly is the best medicine - one that’s freely available, requires no special equipment, and can transform both body and mind in just a few minutes a day.

Laughter Yoga is a great way to have fun and improve our well-being (all laughs, no yoga stretches).
Our Zoom sessions are on Mondays at 1pm for 40 minutes. £8 per person.
